Drawing cartoons is just like drawing anything. Many people start their doodling or sketching using pencils. When they have made a mistake, they use an eraser to remove the offending parts. Many people do not erase over the pencil lines. Instead they draw over the mistakes by drawing a darker line or using many lines to make the drawing darker. The drawing takes shape very quickly.

In this section we will discuss some common materials used by cartoonists. It should be noted that you do not have to spend a lot of money on materials. Even if you can get all the sophisticated tools in the world, they will not make you a successful cartoonist. It is the skill of the cartoonist using them that counts.

So it is wise to try them out and see which one you like to work with.
